Meet five Seoul makeup shops, then try dancer Minjeong's everyday and stage makeup routines.
Professional makeup artists in Seoul do. Five shops there have worked on looks for Wonyoung, Karina, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and Red Velvet. You can also learn a performer's version from dancer Minjeong: a thin everyday base, then stronger eyes for the stage.
Five Seoul makeup shops
All five are in Cheongdam, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
WeWe Atelier (위위아뜰리에)
Seo Ok — Wonyoung
Seo Ok worked on Wonyoung's makeup, and has also worked on looks for IVE, IU, BABYMONSTER, and Girls' Generation.

Kitts (키츠)
Jo Eunbi — Karina
Jo Eunbi worked on makeup for Karina's Prada film, and has also worked with aespa, Jennie, and Suzy.

Woosun (우선)
Lee Myungsun — Jisoo and Lisa
Lee Myungsun worked on makeup for Jisoo and Lisa, and the Woosun team has worked with BLACKPINK as a group.

Bit&Boot (빗앤붓)
Won Jeong-yo — TWICE and Rosé
Won Jeong-yo has worked with TWICE, and worked on Rosé's "APT." video and a Saint Laurent show.

Soonsoo Cheongdam (순수 청담본점)
Shin Kyungmi — Red Velvet
Shin Kyungmi worked on Red Velvet's makeup, starting from the group's debut.
Try Minjeong's makeup routine
If you dream of becoming a KPOP idol, try her tips for auditions, performances, and competitions. Maybe one day you'll be the idol getting your makeup done at one of these shops, and you'll recognize the method.
Minjeong is a KPOP dancer who has danced with BIGBANG and SEVENTEEN, and she taught BLACKPINK before their debut. In lessons with Keens, she shows the methods she uses.
Some of these shops take public bookings. Booking a shop does not mean you will see a specific artist, and artists move between shops. If you book in Korea, choose a daily look or a stage look first, and ask about deposits, foreign-card payment, and English support. Keens does not book salon appointments.
Keep the base thin
Minjeong uses a thin layer of foundation. A heavy base can crack and lift when she sweats on stage.

Mist the sponge, then dab
She mists her makeup sponge about twice, then dabs the foundation on instead of swiping it.

Choose gel liner
She prefers gel liner because pencil liner smudges on her eyes. She keeps the line thin and lets it dry before she performs.

Shade deeper for the stage
Everyday shading stays light. For the stage, a shoot, or a video, she goes darker around the nose and highlights the nose tip so it catches the light.
Use a wet wipe between songs
Between songs she has about ten seconds. She uses a wet wipe to manage sweat and cool down, instead of rubbing her face with a dry tissue.
When you have a few minutes
She mists her face, presses a tissue flat without wiping, mists again, and sponges on a thin layer.
Lashes, then a dot of glitter
If rehearsal runs late, she goes straight to full-strip lashes. She dots white or silver glitter just under the lower lashes, not spread wide under the eye.
